Harcostar ®

Straight plc, the recycling products and services group, has strengthened its position in the garden products sector through the acquisition of the assets and trade of Harcostar ® Garden Products.

Harcostar ® is a long established premium brand consisting of water butts, compost bins, watering cans and accessories. These are supplied to the trade sector in both the UK and Europe. The acquisition reinforces Straight's position as the key player in the marketplace and provides strong links to independent garden centres.

Going forward, Straight intends to retain the Harcostar ® brand and will invest in both the brand and the product range. Straight's existing BeGreen ® garden product range will also be retained.

Under the terms of the sale, Harcostar's Business Development Manager, Chris Ascott, will transfer to Straight plc and manage the future development of the range. New warehousing will be established and manufacture will be moved from its current location in Disley, Cheshire to a more modern, well equipped facility in the North East.
