James Henry Newman (aged 57)
Non-Executive Chairman
James was Chairman of Waste Recycling Group plc until its takeover
in July 2003. He was previously Deputy Chief Executive and
before that Group Finance Director of Kelda Group plc, and
a number of public and other private companies.
He is currently a non-executive director of Richmond Foods
plc, Dignity plc and Partnership Investment Fund. James is
a Governor of Sheffield Hallam University. He is a Chartered
Accountant and a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
James chairs the Remuneration Committee and is a member
of the Audit Committee

Jonathan Michael Straight (aged 42)
Chief Executive
Jonathan has been involved in the recycling container industry in the UK since
the late 1980s.
Since then he has pioneered the promotion of container systems for source separated
waste, initially as a consultant to CG Paxton Limited, then part of the McKechnie
Group plc.
In 1993, he formed Straight Recycling Systems which rapidly grew to be the UK’s
leading supplier of kerbside recycling boxes. From a one-man operation, the Company
has grown year-on-year to the current situation with over 40 employees over three
sites.
Jonathan is responsible for the strategic direction of the Company but retains
a close involvement with its day-to-day sales and marketing activity. He is also
involved with identifying new products and market opportunities.

Mark Jeremy Halford (aged
41)
Operations Director
Mark has held a variety of senior management positions
in the industrial plastics sector since 1990. He was General
Manager and Sales and Marketing Director at T&D Plastech,
where he developed the Cloudburst garden products business
purchased by Straight in January 2006. Prior to joining
Straight, Mark was General Manager of Polimoon Packaging
Ltd at Deeside, a major supplier to the Group.
Mark was awarded a BA with honours in German and English
at the University of Liverpool in 1987 and completed an
MBA at the Open University Business School in 2001.

James David Mellor (aged 36)
Finance Director and Company Secretary
James joined the business as Financial Controller in October 2003, shortly before
the Company’s flotation on AIM. James was appointed to the Board on 20
April 2004. Prior to October 2003, James was Financial Controller at CG Paxton
Limited, under LINPAC ownership where he gained considerable knowledge of the
Injection
Moulding and Materials Handling
industries.
James trained as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG, qualifying in 1995.

Colin Glass (aged 63)
Non-Executive Director
Colin is a senior partner in Winburn Glass Norfolk, the accountancy practice
which he founded with two colleagues in 1974. He is a founder shareholder and
non-executive director of Coe Group plc and Surgical Innovations Group plc. He
assisted these companies, and Straight, to achieve a listing on AIM. He has also
been involved in the launch of several technology start-up companies and in many
cases he has been appointed as a director to the companies which he assists.
Colin is a member of the Remuneration Committee and chairs the Audit Committee.

In line with the Combined Code on Corporate Governance, the running of the Board and the executive responsibility for the operation of the Company's business is separated, with James Newman acting as
Chairman of the Board and Jonathan Straight acting as Chief Executive.
The Company has appointed Colin Glass and James Newman as non-executive Directors. The
non-executive Directors bring independent views to bear at Board proceedings, are independent of
management and have no relationships interfering with their independent judgement.
The Board has established audit and remuneration committees which include all of the non-executive Directors,
both with formally delegated duties and responsibilities.
