MORE MINIMAX TO HELP RECYCLING
Straight’s market leading Minimax recycling
container range has been extended to include a new 40 litre version. Specifically
targeted at the safer collection of dry recyclables the new container includes
a chip nest for an RFID tag.
The Minimax is widely used for both dry recyclables and organic waste and is
the original Italian-designed recycling container, often copied but never equalled.
Capacities range from 7 litres to 50 litres.
The Minimax features a locking lid preventing the contents spilling out should
the container be knocked over in the home or on the kerbside. With the strong
handle upright or to the front the lid is locked and releases only when the
Minimax is tipped forward to empty. A choice of colours, custom graphics and
translucent lid option are available allowing customisation and the Minimax can also feature a drop front with swing flap to provide access to the bottom
unit when two or more are stacked.
Monitoring participation rates is important as local authorities push to meet
higher government targets. The new chip nest securely houses a 20mm RFID tag
and can currently be fitted to the 40 and 50 litre Minimax. It will shortly
also be available on all the other sizes in the range. With improved pricing
for all RFID tags this method of logging containers is now more viable than
ever and Straight's Track-in-the Box™ software allows participation rates
to be measured using hand held or vehicle mounted systems.
Jonathan Straight, Chief Executive at Straight plc said “Local authorities
are under increasing pressure to raise recycling rates year on year and we
continue to provide innovative solutions to help them succeed. The new 40 litre
Minimax is perfect for dry recyclables or even glass only collections. It perfectly
compliments the 25 litre version for organic wastes and with the new chip nest
also allows effective monitoring.”
