For those who don not want to put food waste out for collection, Straight has designed the special Kitchen Composter. this unit allows virtually 100% of all food waste, including meat, fish, dairy and cooked food to be composted at home, reducing the amount of household waste for collection.
The system uses a natural bran-based activator called Bokashi which is coated in friendly bacteria called Effective Micro-organisms (EM). The tight fitting lid and the Bokashi ensure there are no odours. After a few days the contents can be safely added to a traditional compost bin.
The drip tap allows liquid feed to be drained off; this can be used for plant food.
